21 hours ago Shawqi Badri 324 visits Shawqi Badri When the British left, they advised the people of the emirates, which were formed at the beginning of the seventies, to use the Sudanese in the affairs of the modern state. They warned them against well-known nationalities, especially in an Arab country, whose people would intervene and control everything they could. The people of Oman were aware and benefited from the advice. They avoided some nationalities and surrendered under the leadership of Sultan Qaboos, who had mercy on him. The Dhofar problem ended and the Sultanate was united. Its people lived in peace, thank God. May God protect the people of Oman from killing and wars. Sheikh Zayed came to Khartoum and seven Sudanese were chosen to head the seven municipalities. The most famous of them was the son of the Treasury, Kamal Hamza, the mayor of Dubai, and Ahmed Awad Al-Karim, who is connected to the Treasury, became the head of the Abu Dhabi Municipality, whose budget at the time was equal to twice the budget of the entire state. The wonderful sentence was when Sheikh Zayed said to him, “I want Abu Dhabi to be like Khartoum….” Yes, Khartoum, where owls are crowing today and hawks and militias are perching on its chest!! The Sudanese have provided a lot to the Emirates. The vast, overwhelming majority of them did not come for the purpose of plundering, accepting bribery, stealing, or engaging in corruption. Among them were engineers, doctors, teachers, judges, and lawmen. They had the highest honor in writing the constitution of the Emirates. At their head was the great man Ibn al-Ardha, Omdurman Saleh Farah. Saleh Farah was a fan of his genius colleague Mansour Khaled, the intellectual writer and master of the Arabic and English languages. The Farah family were prominent figures in Sudan, including a childhood friend in youth and old age, may God have mercy on him, Abdullah Farah. Among them are businessman Khaled Farah, the French Bank, Al-Sisi newspaper, Al-Seyassah newspaper, etc. Mahdi, Ibrahim and the rest of the family. They obtained Emirati citizenship like their in-laws, the Maani family, who do not need any introduction. More than a decade ago, the Emirates honored my cousin Kamal Khader and he obtained Emirati citizenship like many Sudanese. The Sudanese loved the Emirates and the people of the Emirates, and the people of the Emirates reciprocated the same feeling, the majority of whom exuded generosity, politeness and appreciation for those who came. However, times have changed, its laws, its taste, its rhythm and its requirements. Many may consider the change to be the result of sudden wealth and a sense of importance. We, the Sudanese, have changed. This is the state of the world. I often hear that Dr. Hassan Al-Turabi wrote the Constitution of the Emirates. This is a lie. Hassan did not complete his studies to deserve a doctorate degree. He obtained the first part. He came in October on vacation. He followed the politician, al-Mawlid, and climbed onto al-Sadiq’s back and became known as controlling al-Sadiq. He married Al-Sadiq’s sister, Wissal, whose father, before his quick death, had refused to let her marry Hassan Al-Turabi. Al-Turabi did not return to the Sorbonne, as I learned from my brother, Professor from the Sorbonne, Peter Ngot Kot. Al-Turabi did not live in the Emirates. In the seventies, after the flow of oil in Norway, the Swedes began going to work in Norway because of the very high wages. In the past, it was the opposite. The Swedes began to stereotype and tell jokes about the Norwegians, whose heads were filled with oil and their stupidity increased!! Mohammed bin Zayed does not represent all of the Emirates. Sheikh Faisal Al Qasimi is one of the most humane and reasonable people. He was characterized by humility, love and respect for people. Sheikh Faisal was famous for his extreme loyalty and love of helping the people closest to him, namely Brother John Al-Ghani, who accompanied Sheikh Faisal to study in England. To this day, John and his large family live in Sharjah. Many Sudanese have found welcome and sincere love, although the Sudanese are often far from reasonableness and bring many misfortunes to Sheikh Faisal. My beloved brother, Ahmed Abdel Latif Hamad, I met him in Czechoslovakia, and he became a brother to my brother Al-Shanqeeti, who used to describe Ahmed as the quickest man to get up and the bravest man, even though he is not a big man. I searched for Ahmed one day for several days, and no news of him was known. After some effort, I called Sheikh Faisal, who told me directly… Check on Ahmed, he is in prison due to drunkenness, and he will not be expelled from the Emirates because he is on my sponsorship. But he will be flogged!! Because we flogged my cousin on the same charge. Two days later, I called Sheikh Faisal and found out. That Ahmed had collided with the car of an Egyptian doctor. The Egyptian started screaming as usual and people gathered. This is in Sharjah, where foreigners are expelled on charges of drunkenness. Ahmed beat the Egyptian, who started howling. The woman became angry and the police intervened. Sheikh Faisal reassured me that Ahmed was fine and that he had been flogged and that no one was above the law. Sheikh Faisal used to say… Ahmed was flogged as if they were flogging the ground. He did not move as if the matter did not matter to him. Ahmed, after he left, told me that the Emiratis were screaming and saying, “I am forbidden.” Tibet was forbidden. I explained to Sheikh Faisal the issue of flogging in Sudanese schools, and there is an employee whose job is flogging, which may include the entire class. I introduced him to “butan,” which is flogging at weddings and events. Among the educational equipment in Sudan comes from the Ministry of Education, bales of burlap with rugs and carpets. He collected carpets made of seahorse skin as strong as steel. Before this incident, Ahmed was an officer in the Emirates army… imagine. He went through the same problem. In response to the policeman’s questioning, Ahmed made him talk about the police and all the sheikhs. In court, the public prosecutor asked the policeman to repeat what Ahmed said… The policeman trembled and said…. These are words he cannot repeat in court. Ahmed was sentenced to two months in prison. After a short while, there was a man staring at Ahmed in the supermarket. Ahmed exploded and bullied. The polite Emirati said to Ahmed, “Why are you Sudanese so difficult?” Ahmed understood that the one addressing him was the judge who sent Ahmed to prison, and he was surprised to find him outside prison. At that time, there was no military prison yet. The reasonable man, Chief Ahmed, the officer, and the honorable purchasing manager, Saeed, always defended the reckless Ahmed because he loved him. Ahmed is a loving person. At that time, life was peaceful and everyone was in a state of harmony, familiarity and comfort. There was no grinding, fighting and, trampling, for others to reach wealth and prestige. In the People’s Team Stadium under the patronage of Sheikh Faisal, I found the son of the Daling and a high school athlete on a friend or,, on football,, good fortune. I found my beloved Captain Mahjoub Al-Dab, who was very close to Sheikh Faisal in an unbelievable way, and the son of the treasury, Captain Bishara, whom I had not met since the fifties. Sheikh Faisal treated everyone with warmth, including Brother Ibrahim, who ran the Sheikh Faisal Hotel in Sharjah. Ahmed stayed in the hotel for a short time and did not pay!! After that, Ahmed moved to a two-and-a-half-story apartment facing the Ladies Club. Sheikh Faisal helped many Sudanese people sincerely and warmly. Brother Ali Siddiq was subjected to a great shock. After graduating from the University of Khartoum, Ali Koura, may God rest his soul, worked in the Ministry of Youth. He clashed with some who were not satisfied with Ali’s charisma and his extraordinary ability to create friendships. These are things that may generate hatred and envy. Sheikh Faisal used to tell me that when I entered Al Shaab Club or the stadium, people gathered around Ali Siddiq. I felt this while playing billiards in the huge salon of Sheikh Faisal’s palace and the enthusiasm it generated over a friend. I would not be telling the truth if I said that Sheikh Faisal had the highest praise for establishing the Sharjah Hall. I knew that he had an argument with a Moroccan chef because he was treating the Sudanese with disrespect. Sheikh Faisal told him… You worked here because you look like Sudanese. When I visited Sheikh Faisal, as usual, without permission or prior announcement. He blamed me because I did not call him when he was a guest of the Sudanese government. He was complaining about loneliness and protocol, which did not resemble the tolerant spirit of the sheikh. He complained about the poor rooms of the Republican Palace, despite its antiquity. I think the bathrooms were outside the rooms. My answer was… You are in the government’s hospitality and I am against the government. When the knight Al-Rih Al-Balula went to the Emirates, Ahmed Abdel Latif took him to Sheikh Faisal and introduced him as a friend of Shawqi. All this without my knowledge. Sheikh Faisal did not hesitate and placed him under his sponsorship, and Al-Rih obtained residency. After the fall of May, we were shocked when a signal came from Interpol to send a friend to Sudan, wanted by the Sudanese government. This caused panic among the wife of a friend and his young daughter. We were expecting great evil. After consulting the old Lebanese lawyer. They came up with an effective solution. Sheikh Faisal filed a financial lawsuit against Ali Siddiq, who was in prison. The local call precedes the foreign call. During this period, Sheikh Faisal intervened and settled the issue with the Sadiq government. After the genius solution, Sheikh Faisal seemed happy and relaxed. He told me that he was hurt when he saw Ali crying while hugging his young daughter in prison and saying to his wife…. Didn’t I tell you that I feel that a disaster will happen to us?? When Sheikh Faisal was head of the Amiri Diwan, information came to him that Al-Tijani, who was head of the Sharjah Municipality, was suspected of receiving a large commission from the waste truck deal. Maybe because he started building small villas in Sharjah!! I have never met Al-Tijani in my life. But I knew some of his in-laws, with whom I had friendships with my mother’s family in the treasury. They were very proud of their new brother-in-law. I learned from Dr. Babiker Abdel Karim Badri in Sharjah that Al-Tijani was a friend and classmate of Ahfad in high school, and that his family was from a respectable family of well-known Omdurman merchants. This prompted me to ask Sheikh Faisal to stand with Al-Tijani and give him all possible support because he may be innocent and it is certain that he has envious people because of his job. At that time, all the seven emirates had a Sudanese at the head of the municipality. I learned from Ahmed Abdel Latif that Sheikh Faisal had summoned Al-Tijjani and spoke with him and told him that he was a friend of Shawqi Badri and that he had been my guest in London and then in Sweden and Denmark. Al-Tijani said, “I did not meet him or ask him, and it is certain that he, like most of the students in the school, knew me and my family… Al-Tijani said….” But my longing is dull. The greatness of Sheikh Faisal, he never mentioned to me what Al-Tijani said. I heard that Sheikh Faisal got angry. He used to say about Al-Tijani: This is a strange person. I tell him about a friend who enthusiastically asks me to help him. He says about him… He is a stupid person. This is an insult directed at me in the first place. Despite the abuse, Faisal Al-Tijani helped. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nahyan, the UAE ambassador to America during the first Gulf War, is a cousin of Mohammed bin Zayed and the others. He told me while we were in Sudan that he understood why the funeral of Ahmed Al Qasimi, Faisal Al Qasimi’s brother, became unlike the norm for the Emiratis, like a Sudanese funeral. He must have heard from his cousin Mohammed bin Zayed, who attended the funeral and stayed for many hours, and I was two meters away from him all the time. The other sheikhs did not attend the funeral despite the horror of the tragedy. I later learned from Sheikh Abdullah, the ambassador and my partner, that he knew Sheikh Faisal by mentioning my name. I say this to inform those who do not know that there was a lot of goodness in the people of the Emirates and communication with them was easy and pleasant. While attending a football match, some crazy people borrowed one of the missiles that are fired as a kind of signal by the army. The missile hit a wall or balcony, rebounded and hit Sheikh Ahmed. Ahmed moved to London and news came that his health had improved, then he relapsed and died. Sudanese flocked to the funeral with an unusual density in the Emirates. I hesitated for three days, and the rest continued for quite a while. This helped Sheikh Faisal a lot. I wrote many topics and sent them to Sheikh Faisal. I still have copies of them. I was very impressed by Sheikh Faisal’s openness, his knowledge of politics, his love of justice, and his respect for all people. These are among the qualities of Al-Qawasma. I remember that I wrote to him before the beginning of the First Gulf War. Remember little Faisal, son of honorable people. Give the world a blanket for the needy. Generations will go and a yellow wind will howl. The people of the land will leave and the shores will be occupied by strangers. Flowers will bloom, stung by raging fires. And on a newer cruiser pushed by a strong wind comes another Saiton, which the earth will utter with all its fathers. Al-Qasimi remains a symbol of loyalty. Saiton is the commander of the British cruiser Mornington. He could not. Defeat of the Qawasima. They forced him to make peace in 1806. https://i.imgur.com/LBaW6Cd.jpeg Sheikh Faisal Al Qasimi and Ahmed Abdel Latif Hamad in my office in Sweden at the time of,, Zain,, https://i.imgur.com/ziCZPjC.jpeg Sheikh Faisal and Muhammad, the accompanying security officer, and Shawqi Badri in front of Malmö Castle / SwedenWasil Shawqi Badri shawgibadri@hotmail.com See also Shawqi Badri The first of March will be the beginning of the start.
