Oman: A number of owners of youth initiatives supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for the year 2026 AD confirmed that this support contributes to empowering youth, enhancing their role in community development, and instilling the spirit of initiative in the souls of Omani youth, which confirms their preservation of customs that were and still remain, and that they are proactive in achieving impact and benefit for various segments of society. And youth: The initiative to support youth projects comes within the framework of the ministry’s direction towards empowering youth and enhancing their role in community development by achieving a set of main goals, most notably attracting youth energies and employing them effectively to serve society, developing and refining youth talents and creativity, providing a supportive environment for them, and enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences among young people in a way that contributes to building an integrated knowledge society, in addition to expanding the base of youth participation in the social development process, and consolidating their role as active partners in national construction. He explained to the Oman News Agency. The General Directorate of Youth is working to implement an integrated development plan for the youth initiatives sector during the year 2026 AD, which is based on raising the efficiency of the initiatives and enhancing their societal impact. It includes organizing and officially registering the initiatives to ensure their sustainability, raising the level of governance, expanding the scope of beneficiaries of youth activities and programs provided by the initiatives, building institutional capacities through training and qualification according to approved guidelines, developing digital systems by launching an electronic platform to receive and manage requests for initiatives, and strengthening partnerships with government agencies in the governorates to facilitate the implementation of programs and initiatives, in addition to implementing a number of Specific programs, such as the Youth Initiatives Forum, and incubators for developing initiatives, and their continued support for implementing activities that have a tangible impact on society. He pointed out that the Ministry adopts an integrated monitoring system to ensure the quality of implementation of initiatives and the achievement of their goals by requiring them to submit clear annual plans, define their targets, submit periodic final reports that document achievements and measure impact, carry out field visits to follow up on the progress of work, ensure adherence to standards, and involve specialists in following up on program implementation and providing guidance and support when needed. He stressed that the supported youth initiatives are expected to contribute to achieving a number of positive results at the individual and societal levels, most notably providing broad opportunities for youth participation in community activities and programmes. Developing personal and professional skills, especially soft skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication, enhancing the culture of volunteer work and entrepreneurship among young people, and supporting social development efforts through quality initiatives that respond to community needs and building a generation that is aware and actively involved in various areas of development. For her part, Abeer bint Saleh Al Rahbi, a nurse, first aid trainer and founder of the “Pulse Paramedics” initiative, told the Oman News Agency: The “Pulse Paramedics” initiative is a health volunteer initiative that aims to spread the culture of first aid in society in various languages. And enabling individuals to act properly in emergency situations, which contributes to saving lives and reducing complications before the competent authorities arrive. She added that through this initiative, we plan to expand the implementation of a number of approved training courses, launch awareness campaigns at the level of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, and qualify specialized volunteer teams to support events and society, and build strategic partnerships with government and private agencies. She said: The adoption of the initiative under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth this year confirms the Ministry’s keenness to enable volunteer initiatives to achieve success. Its desired goals, which contributes to and enhances its spread, in addition to that this support will be the beginning for building strategic partnerships that contribute to the sustainability of training programs and reaching the largest possible segment of society. She stressed that the actual implementation of the initiative starting in August 2025 means that it continues to expand according to a phased plan to cover the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, where last year (2814) beneficiaries were reached, (65) training workshops were implemented, (86) field coverage was provided, and more than (150) volunteer hours and expansion in (10) governorates and the implementation of programs in schools, universities, clubs, private and governmental institutions. This initiative is proud to graduate the first paramedic from the deaf category in Omani society, in a step that enhances inclusivity and empowerment of all segments of society. In turn, Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al Mazrouei, founder of the “Jahez” initiative, said that it is a volunteer youth initiative concerned with empowering young people and developing their capabilities in cultural and developmental aspects and aims to prepare a conscious and qualified generation through development. Personal skills, enhancing creative thinking skills, and building leadership capabilities, in addition to supporting a culture of continuous learning, which contributes to qualifying young people for the requirements of the labor market and is in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. He added to the Oman News Agency that after the success of the first phase of the “Jahez” initiative, which targeted 840 participants, we are currently working on moving to the second phase, in which we focus on expanding the recruitment of specialized trainers, and launching a series of qualitative programs and workshops, and we are also striving in this. The stage aims to complete what was previously built, enhance the quality of the training content, and expand the scope of the impact to reach a larger segment of young people, in order to achieve the sustainability of the initiative and enhance its presence at the community level. As for Jawaher bint Talib Al-Hadi, the official responsible for the “Diwaniyah Al-Sabbat” initiative, she stated that it is a women’s cultural volunteer community that was launched in 2017 AD, and arrived in the Sultanate of Oman in 2024 AD, and seeks to build an inspiring environment for girls that combines faith values and cultural awareness through periodic meetings presented in an atmosphere A quiet spirituality that enhances the presence of faith meanings in daily life, and contributes to the formation of good company that helps in personal and intellectual growth. She pointed out that this initiative is distinguished by its own identity that mixes faith and knowledge in a youthful context close to reality, as its sessions begin with short thoughts of faith that touch the heart, followed by inspiring hosts that discuss various life topics. It also believes that the true impact is not measured by its moment, but by the extension it leaves in thought and behavior, and through that it seeks to create… Sustainable positive change in society. She added that the initiative, in its next phase, is working towards qualitative expansion, through developing its programs and launching initiatives directed at specific groups, most notably “Diwaniyat al-Bousala” for university students. It aims to provide deeper knowledge content and inspiring experiences that contribute to building a conscious generation that possesses insight and responsibility. It is also working to diversify the areas of offering and attract distinguished competencies to enrich the experience. She pointed out that the support provided by the relevant authorities is a true partnership in the impact industry, as this support contributes to expanding the scope of the initiative and enhancing its societal presence, in addition to enabling it to provide more quality and sustainable content, and to reach wider segments of beneficiaries. She said: The initiative organizes its sessions on an ongoing basis, and has achieved a remarkable attendance during the year 2025 AD, with wide participation exceeding 3,500 beneficiaries, in addition to organizing a number of diverse sessions in multiple locations, which reflects its success and increasing spread. In turn, Muhammad bin Saif Al-Saidi, Chairman and Founder of the “Green Thought Voluntary Environmental Initiative,” explained that the initiative is an environmental development initiative under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and aims to spread environmental awareness and enhance the principles of sustainability by establishing environmentally friendly libraries, disseminating knowledge and protecting natural resources at the same time in order to achieve a sustainable cultural and environmental impact that serves the present and the future. He said: Our next plan is to expand the establishment of green libraries in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, and to place them in public places such as parks and squares, to ensure easy access. We are also working to develop the technical aspect of the initiative by linking libraries to a smart application that allows users to review available books, search for them, and follow the borrowing movement, in addition to benefiting from smart systems in collecting data and improving the user experience. He added that the support from the concerned authorities reflects the official institutions’ belief in the importance of youth initiatives and their role in achieving sustainable development. This support had a significant impact on our ability to develop the initiative and achieve its goals, and also constituted an incentive to continue giving and enhance the presence of environmental and cultural initiatives in society. He pointed out that the initiative began its implementation steps by designing and implementing prototypes of green libraries, while working to gradually disseminate them in the targeted sites, stressing that the implementation process is proceeding according to a phased plan aimed at ensuring the quality of implementation and the sustainability of the project with future expansion to include a wider range of sites in the Sultanate of Oman, and the first library was inaugurated in the Buraimi Governorate in the Sa’raa region. The Green Thought Library initiative won the Youth Excellence Award for the year 2024 for the “Green Library” project, which represents a strong motivation to continue working on consolidating the concepts of environmental sustainability and disseminating culture and knowledge in society. He stressed that the initiative is currently working on launching a qualitative initiative that is the first of its kind, which is the establishment of the green currency platform, which is an innovative idea aimed at promoting positive environmental behavior in society, where individuals – especially the youth group – are motivated to adopt sustainable practices such as donating books, recycling, and participating in environmental activities, in exchange for receiving A digital “green currency” that can be used for educational and cultural services or benefits, which contributes to consolidating the culture of sustainability in a modern interactive manner. The initiative also worked on implementing a program directed at educational institutions that aims to spread environmental awareness and enhance the culture of reading among students through applied initiatives and field activities within schools and colleges. For his part, Abdullah bin Imad Al-Taysiri, owner of the “Your Idea Is Worth It” initiative, said that the initiative aims to transform innovative ideas into applicable entrepreneurial projects and investment by empowering young people, developing their capabilities and turning their ideas into models. Real businesses that contribute to supporting the national economy and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. He added that the initiative enjoys direct and major support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, which consists of providing financial and logistical aspects, in addition to facilitating access to resources and expertise, and linking the initiative with the relevant authorities from the government and private sectors, and academic institutions. This support has had a significant impact on the continuation of the initiative, the expansion of its scope, and the achievement of its goals on the ground. He explained that the “Your Idea is Worthy” initiative is an initiative that has been in place since 2022, and is now in its fifth year of implementation, as a number of qualitative outcomes were achieved during this period, and last year, The “Intilaaqah Incubator” was launched as one of the main programs emerging from the initiative, which currently includes 12 teams working on developing their pioneering ideas. He pointed out that the incubator focuses on qualifying these teams and transforming their ideas into real investment projects by providing a series of specialized training workshops in multiple fields, such as marketing, persuasion skills, prototype development, and pricing mechanisms, to prepare them to enter the market and present their projects to investors.
