His Excellency added in his speech before the General Conference of the Fatah Youth in the Northern Governorates under the title “From Jerusalem to Gaza… We are standing firm on our land, keeping our covenant,” which was held at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah, today, Thursday, that our Palestinian cause is passing through a dangerous turning point these days, and is facing enormous challenges. The occupation continues its aggression and crimes, targeting Jerusalem, its people and its sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron. It attacks our people in the West Bank, and besieges Gaza after almost completely destroying it. The President paid tribute to the martyrs, wounded and prisoners of our people, stressing that the State of Palestine will be embodied in a free, independent and fully sovereign state, no matter how escalating the challenges may be. His Excellency stressed that this conference represents an extension of a long national struggle led by the “Fatah” movement since its inception, pointing out that the Palestinian youth have always been at the forefront of the ranks, from the Stone Intifada, all the way to confronting the occupation in various arenas, and that victory is achieved by the youth, their belief in truth, and their determination that is not shaken by adversity. His Excellency stressed that what we seek is for the Palestinian people to have a generation strengthened by national awareness and aware of their national identity, a generation that possesses knowledge and experience, and that recognizes mistakes and does not remain silent about them. The following is the text of His Excellency’s speech: I greet you with the greeting of the dear homeland that we carry in our hearts and protect with our souls, and I would like to express my great happiness in meeting you today. I greet you with the greeting of Jerusalem, our eternal capital, which resides in the hearts of every Palestinian man and woman. I greet you with the salute of the martyrs, wounded, and prisoners of our people, and in the name of the State of Palestine, which we all believe will be embodied, free, independent, and with full sovereignty over Her land, no matter how long the time takes, no matter how many challenges, and no matter how great the sacrifices. This conference of yours, which is being held today, is a major national event, and holding it at this difficult historical moment renews hope and confidence in the future, so let me congratulate you because you are writing a glorious history, not for the Fatah movement alone, but for the Palestinian people. You are the youth of the nation, you are the bearers of the banner of Palestinian nationalism, the banner of the national liberation struggle that Fatah has raised since its founding at the end of the 1950s, and its historical launch, the launch of the contemporary Palestinian revolution in the year 1965. You are the young generation, which sparked the Stone Intifada in 1987 and which renews the blood of Fatah, and gives it strength and stability. You are the ones who will preserve the trust left to us by the symbol leader Yasser Arafat “Abu Ammar” and all the leaders. The founders, Khalil Al-Wazir “Abu Jihad”, Salah Khalaf “Abu Iyad”, and other heroic leaders and fighters, without their insightful national vision, their valiant struggle and their great sacrifices, we would not be here today, on the homeland, holding this conference of yours, the Fatah Youth Conference. It is not surprising that our honorable Prophet, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said that God had given him victory through the youth. This is a fact attested to by the early facts of history, when the youth were the vanguard and the bearers of the message. Today, without a doubt, they are the vanguard and the bearers of the message, the message of freedom and independence, and they are the shield of defense of the homeland, its sanctities, inalienable rights, and national dignity. Sisters, brothers, you realize that holding this general conference of the Fatah youth in the northern governorates is the result of your struggles, and it is an expression of the true democratic practice that the Fatah movement has been accustomed to, and it is the basis of our work. We promise you that we will complete these elections in the southern governorates as quickly as possible, as an expression of unity and renewal in the one nation, and from you will come members of the eighth general conference of the Fatah movement, which will be held very soon, God willing. Some of you will be future leaders who will assume responsibility in leadership and decision-making positions. What we seek is for the Palestinian people to have a generation strengthened by national awareness and aware of its national identity, a generation that possesses knowledge and experience, a generation that recognizes mistakes and does not remain silent about them, and today you are the true expression of this generation, so raise your heads, preserve the trust and continue carrying the banner, which we will hand over to you so that it remains flying high on the land of Palestine. O youth of Palestine, the future is not something we wait for, but rather something we create, and you are the ones who will create this future in which the sun of freedom will shine on Palestine and our patient and steadfast people in the land of our fathers and grandfathers. I want to see you leading the ranks, inspired by the meaning of God Almighty’s saying: “They are young men who have believed in their Lord, and We have increased them in guidance.” You, my children, are the ones about whom the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said that victory will come through you, your honesty, your determination, and your belief in the truth… a faith that will not be shaken by hardship and will not be affected by the forces of injustice. Dear Palestinian youth, we meet today at a critical and decisive historical moment, a moment in which our resolve and national will are tested, and in which the pressures targeting our identity, our rights, and our national cause intensify, but you are the symbol of the steadfastness of our people stationed in their homeland, in Jerusalem and the outskirts of Jerusalem, and the mirror of this great people who do not break in the face of aggression, and do not know despair in the face of the horror of the challenges and the greatness of the sacrifices. Dear friends, our cause is going through a dangerous turning point these days, and is facing enormous challenges. The occupation continues its aggression and crimes, targeting Jerusalem, its people and its sanctities, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, attacking our people in the West Bank, and besieging Gaza after almost completely destroying it. He destroyed all its buildings, institutions, schools, universities, mosques and churches, and is still working to distort the Palestinian narrative before the world, but we are steadfast in our positions, adhering to our national rights, and continuing our political, diplomatic and legal struggle in all international forums. I stand here in the wounded Gaza Strip, this dear part of our homeland that faced war, siege, aggression and destruction that left profound effects on people, the earth and everything on it. After two years of brutal genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, the escalation of Israeli aggression, and settler terrorism in the West Bank, we are experiencing a new Nakba. The martyrdom of more than 70,000 Palestinian people, the wounding of nearly 200,000 wounded and missing, and the destruction of more than 80 percent of the Gaza Strip cannot be described as another Nakba. But with your determination and hard work, we will emerge our people from this Nakba strong and steadfast on the ground. His homeland, and we will completely rebuild the Gaza Strip and build a decent life for our people there. We cannot forget what is happening in Jerusalem in terms of continuous Judaization, changes in its features, and expulsion of its residents. Jerusalem was and will remain the crown jewel, the title of our identity, and the capital of our state. As for the steadfast West Bank, despite the continuous invasions, closures, confiscations, and building of colonies, the demolition of homes, the terror of settlers, with the support of the occupation army, the felling of trees, the burning of crops, and the displacement of residents from their homes in the steadfastness camps, it expresses a state of legendary steadfastness, a historical connection to the land, and a deep belonging to the homeland that will defeat all attempts at displacement, confiscation, and annexation. Our national vision is clear: Gaza is an indivisible part of the one nation and the one Palestinian state. There is no state without Gaza, no state in Gaza alone, no state without Jerusalem, our eternal and sacred capital, and no peace without a just solution to the Palestinian refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194. Our national project is one and indivisible, within the framework of a national vision that depends on the equation of one state with one political system, one law, one legitimate weapon, and commitment to international legitimacy and the Palestine Liberation Organization. We will continue peaceful popular resistance and political, diplomatic and humanitarian work with all parties to protect our people, lift the siege, and launch the reconstruction process, according to a national vision that restores this dear sector to its full role in the process of liberation, unity, and building the independent Palestinian state. Sisters and brothers, we have agreed to President Trump’s plan, firstly in order to stop the war of extermination against our people, and secondly because it provides for the entry of food and medicine, without any obstacles. It also prevents displacement, provides for reconstruction in Gaza, and recognizes that final peace cannot be achieved unless the Palestinian people exercise their right to self-determination and establishing their own state. In this regard, our position has been firm and clear from the first moment, that the Gaza Administration Committee must be linked to the legitimate Palestinian government, which is what was adopted by the Arab Summit and the Islamic Summit. This position is not an ordinary procedural matter, but rather a necessary step to preserve the territorial integrity of the Palestinian state, the unity of the West Bank, with Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip at its heart, and any attempt to step away from the role of the authority and the organization will be rejected by our people, and will undermine the credibility of President Trump’s plan. We are keen to ensure its success, but in a way that does not detract from the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people. The State of Palestine is a reality firmly established in history, the present and the future. It is, according to all standards and in accordance with international law, a state embodied by its people and territory. Today it is recognized by 160 countries. It is an observer member of the United Nations. It is a state recognized by four out of five permanent members of the UN Security Council, which are Russia, China, France and Britain. It is a state under occupation. The United Nations and the international community have the responsibility to support its peaceful efforts for liberation and the embodiment of its national sovereignty on its land. Oh sisters, brothers, the youth of Fatah, and the youth of Palestine, you are the leadership of the future, and whoever will bear the responsibility must read his history well. He who does not control his history does not control his present or his future. Knowing history is not meant for us to remain in it, but for us to have the ability to make it, avoid mistakes, and formulate a comprehensive and integrated vision that reflects the history, present, and future of our steadfast people. You are the leadership of the future, and we trust in your abilities, so we will hand the flag to you while it is raised, and your conference here is evidence of the vitality of the Fatah movement and the vitality of the Palestinian people.. Let your slogan be “Here we remain.” Here we will build our lives and our future. Have determination, patience, and a solid will. You are the makers of the future, and you are the ones who will raise the flag of Palestine above the minarets of Jerusalem, the churches of Jerusalem, and the walls of Jerusalem. You are the makers of freedom and the builders of the state. Allow me, in your name, to address the Palestinian people with a message of hope, a message of determination to continue the struggle until freedom and independence are achieved, and to have mercy on the souls of the heroic martyrs of our people, and to comfort the hands of our brave prisoners in the detention centers of the Israeli occupation. Greetings to you, the youth of Fatah, and to all the youth of Palestine. You are the bet of a winning future, and we all trust you. I wish your conference a success for the good of the Palestinian people. May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you
