His name will remain present in the bright pages of history, after he was associated with a stage that made the greatest transformation in the history of the state and the Arab world, and during his reign he laid the foundations of modern Qatar and consolidated its position. His political, national and humanitarian legacy will remain a source of pride and inspiration for generations, while the process of construction and renaissance continues under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, who continues to carry the trust and complete the approach of His Highness the Father Emir and continue in the nation’s renaissance, development, human building and happiness. He had influence in many countries where he supported peace and the elements of stability. He also laid the foundations of the modern Qatari state, and established the meanings of giving in its approach. Charitable, social, and humanitarian institutions were established during his reign, in addition to his guidance and contributions to Establishing and sponsoring many humanitarian, development, educational and relief projects in many countries, until these efforts alleviated the suffering of hundreds of thousands, or even millions, in different parts of the world. He charted the approach of freedom in the press and media and made the Qatari media a platform for humanity, the voice of truth, and stations of knowledge and history. We count him among those whom God blessed with the love of goodness, so he granted him the benefit of work, so he populated the earth, and no one denies that, and this reconstruction is a type of worship for which God created the servants, as he was keen to He built a large number of mosques in his country and abroad, and the mosque of Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab is only a witness to that. I saw a number of mosques during my humanitarian trips in Sudan and Indonesia. Charity; To improve the standard of living for the needy, and to provide social care, and financial and moral support in the fields of education, health, and others, in addition to his continued support for the charitable projects that were established during his reign, and the princely blessings that brought joy and reassurance to his people. His vision, may God have mercy on him, was not limited to humanitarian and charitable work. Rather, he believed that building human beings is the first pillar of the renaissance of nations, and that investing in science and knowledge is the most beneficial and lasting investment, so many buildings were built. From public and private schools and universities, it made great progress in its buildings, curricula and institutions. Qatar University advanced and celebrated its graduates year after year, and drew up a solid plan to build the Qatar Foundation. He praised God in many of his speeches, where he said, may God have mercy on him: “We have begun to reap the fruits of an ambitious national project for education, the goal of which is to plant the roots of knowledge and enhance the strategic role of science in building the nation and the citizen.” He was proud of this edifice, and he thanked God for its success, and for the other educational institutions during his reign. The academically distinguished were honored, struggling students at home and abroad were sponsored, the curricula were developed, and academic specializations were diversified, which contributed to preparing qualified generations to participate in building and elevating the nation. Among his immortal words: “We believed and we still believe that education is the true wealth of any country, as it is the foundation of all progress, and its lack is the cause of all backwardness.” He continued. His interest in education led to the establishment of Hamad Bin Khalifa University in 2010, to be a national university concerned with postgraduate studies, contributing to the knowledge industry and bringing about change in the State of Qatar and the region, by integrating scientific research and innovation, and offering diverse academic and research programs across six colleges, to be one of the fruits of his vision of building a knowledge-based economy. He developed a solid approach to supporting and developing education. From this standpoint, His Highness the Father Emir, may God have mercy on him, consolidated his conviction that science is the basis of renaissance, so he built for Qatar a knowledge economy that goes beyond dependence on oil and gas, and left knowledge that can be benefited from, which – God willing – will remain an ongoing charity for him until the Day of Judgment. One of the aspects that will continue to be remembered for him is that Doha during his reign became an incubator for science and scholars. It embraced a large number of Muslim scholars, sheikhs, preachers and thinkers, and provided them with a scientific and media environment that contributed to the dissemination of science and Islamic thought, the printing of religious and scientific books, and the Qur’an was printed, published and distributed until the Qatar Qur’an was printed. Doha became a platform for science and thought, and this was part of his vision that building humanity and thought is an essential pillar in the state’s renaissance. And grant him the highest paradise with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and reward him on behalf of Qatar and its people, and on behalf of the Arab and Islamic nations, and on behalf of everyone to whom the hand of his goodness and giving was extended, the best reward, and put what he gave in the balance of his good deeds, and perpetuated upon the State of Qatar the blessing of security, stability, and prosperity. May God protect His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, and grant him success in all goodness and preserve the people of Qatar and those residing on the land of Qatar.
