The show arena was filled since the early morning hours with thousands of participants who came from the capital, Aden, and the governorates of Hadramaut, Al-Mahra, Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, and Socotra, raising the flags of the south and banners expressing their rejection of guardianship and hegemony, and affirming their adherence to the southern national project and to the political leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, headed by President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi. The event also carried clear political messages regarding what the protesters considered continuous attempts to undermine the will of the people of the South and restrict their political and media activity, stressing that the Southerners will continue to defend their legitimate national rights and reject any projects that detract from their aspirations or reproduce previous forms of domination. During the event, Mr. Waddah Al-Halmi, Acting Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi to the masses of the people of the South gathered in the parade square, praising the militant stances embodied by the people of the South and the great sacrifices they made in defense of their national cause. Al-Halmi said that during the past period, what he described as the guardianship and occupation authorities practiced various forms of repression and restrictions against southern activists and media professionals, in an attempt to silence the voice of the south and undermine the Southern Transitional Council and its national cause, stressing that these practices did not and will not succeed in breaking the will of the southerners or discouraging them from continuing their struggle. He added that the Southern Transitional Council has a broad escalation program in the various governorates of the South to express rejection of guardianship and to convey the voice of the people of the South to the regional and international communities, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the humanitarian, service and economic conditions that citizens suffer from, and to work to support the aspirations of the people of the South and their right to self-determination. For his part, Sheikh Abdul Rab Al-Naqeeb, a member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and a young sheikh, delivered an enthusiastic speech in which he praised the large public presence witnessed in the parade square, considering that this scene reflects the extent of popular awareness and the national steadfastness that the people of the south adhere to despite the challenges. Sheikh Al-Naqib pointed out that July 7th represents for southerners a painful memory linked to the 1994 summer war and the resulting occupation of the south and the desecration of its institutions, land and people, stressing that this memory will remain present in the southern national memory, generation after generation. Al-Naqib denounced what he described as the practices of the de facto authorities and tools of Saudi influence in Aden and Hadramaut, and the accompanying campaigns of arrests and restrictions against southern activists, calling on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to review its policies towards the south and respect the will of its people and their national aspirations. He stressed that the people of the South have proven over the past decades the firmness of their position and their adherence to their national rights, and that they will continue their political and popular struggle until achieving their goal of restoring their state with full sovereignty over its entire national territory. Al-Haid explained that the people of the south view the current movements targeting their national cause as an extension of policies aimed at marginalizing their political will, stressing that the people of the south reject any measures or practices that conflict with their legitimate right to self-determination and the restoration of their state, and that these rights are guaranteed. International conventions and norms. At the conclusion of the event, the crowds gathered in the parade square stressed that the current stage requires strengthening the unity of the southern ranks and unifying national efforts to confront the various political, security and economic challenges, stressing the importance of preserving the gains achieved over the past years and continuing the political and popular struggle until the goals of the people of the south of freedom and independence and the restoration of their fully sovereign state are achieved. Millions witnessed the escalation against the guardianship and occupation, a final statement. Text of the statement: O sons of our great, free southern people… O heroic stationed people on the fronts of pride and dignity, today comes the anniversary of the fateful seventh of July, that black day of 1994 AD, in which the forces of vandalism and arrogance affiliated with the Sana’a regime completed their brutal military invasion of the pure land of the south, attempting to obliterate our identity and history, destroy the institutions of our state, and transform peaceful partnership and unity into a full-fledged military occupation. Our great southern people were able to turn the memory of that fateful day into an inspiring struggle station when reconciliation, tolerance, and the launch of the Southern Movement were coupled with that same day. Our free and steadfast southern people: Today we stand to draw lessons from the anniversary of the invasion, as it is a pivotal day in which unity fell, and as a day for reconciliation and tolerance, and a day for the spark of resistance and awareness to be sparked, and for the transformation of military defeat into renewed revolutionary energy, which culminated in the launch of the southern peaceful movement, and then the valiant southern resistance, leading to the establishment of the Southern Arab Transitional Council as a political bearer and leader of the struggles of this people towards regaining their freedom and independence. O proud southern people: Today, South Arabia is going through a phase similar to the phase after the invasion and occupation in 1994 AD, where the forces hostile to the South were able to control important military and economic sites in the south. These forces and groups would not have been able to take control had it not been for the direct Saudi military intervention, which reached the point of bombing the southern forces with aircraft, then enabling the invading military legions to penetrate and spread and then concentrate in the southern geography, and impose guardianship over our people. The illusionists of guardianship and occupation thought that by burning the land, plundering wealth, displacing and starving the people of the South, and creating chaos and terrorism, they would be able to bury the just cause of the people of the South. But they forgot that the identity of the South is rooted in the depths of history, and that the will of the people never dies. We in the Southern Transitional Council, and on this pivotal anniversary, affirm the following: – Our southern people renew their rally around their political entity that carries their cause, represented by the Southern Transitional Council and its president, Commissioner Aidaroos bin Qasim bin Abdulaziz Al-Zubaidi, and to move behind him until the aspirations of our people are achieved to restore the southern state with full sovereignty. We renew our pledge and loyalty to the blood of the righteous martyrs who fell on the fields of honor for the sake of the dignity of the south, and we affirm that their sacrifices are the compass. We will not deviate from it until we achieve the desired goal. We affirm that the option of restoring the independent federal state of the South with all its borders recognized before the borders of May 22, 1990 AD is a sovereign option that cannot be negotiated or circumvented, and it is a legitimate right guaranteed by all international conventions. We affirm that our southern armed and security forces will remain the watchful eye and the impregnable shield to protect the gains of the revolution, combat terrorism in all its forms and colors, and protect the homeland from any new adventures of the forces of hegemony and influence. We hold the guardianship state and its artificial authorities responsible for the miserable attempts that are taking place today to destroy and dismantle it and squander its achievements in combating terrorism and piracy. We hold it fully responsible for what is happening in the south of tampering, security chaos, and the empowerment of terrorist elements. Extremists in positions of security, military, civil and political authority. We renew our call to all southern political and societal forces to strengthen national cohesion and alignment, and to strengthen the internal front, as the future of the South is built with all its people and without exclusion. We reiterate that the southern/southern dialogue is a great goal that can be achieved without external dictates, guardianship, or threats from any party, especially the party that has proven with conclusive evidence that it stands against the restoration of the southern state. We renew our principled rejection of the so-called (road map) from which understandings emerged between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, according to which the Houthis are granted the bulk of the south’s economic revenues in exchange for not targeting Saudi lands. We affirm that our people will not allow any agreements to be passed at the expense of their national cause and the blood of their martyrs. Our people renew their adherence to the political declaration issued by the Transitional Council on January 2, 2026, and the constitutional declaration as a safe road map that leads to the restoration of the state. South, and achieve security and stability in the region in general. We hold the Saudi guardianship authorities legally and morally responsible, and for the catastrophic repercussions of a crime being arranged, represented by the release of eight terrorist elements who were proven to be involved in the crimes of assassinating a number of southern leaders, in exchange for the Houthis’ release of two Saudi pilots held captive by the Houthi group, and we call on the international community to put pressure on Saudi Arabia to stop this deal. We affirm that the campaigns of repression, attempts to silence voices, intimidation, terrorism, and persecutions of southern politicians, media figures, and activists violate all laws. We call on local and international human rights and humanitarian organizations to monitor, condemn, and document these violations. We call on the Saudi guardianship authorities to quickly release the detainees, led by the heroic southern leader, Moin Al-Megrahi, and to stop the persecutions targeting the leaders of the Southern Transitional Council and southern media activists. We call on the international community to intervene urgently to find an appropriate formula to deal with the emerging situation in South Arabia, due to Saudi guardianship and exclusivity in the decision, which has proven over the past six months that it is leading the South and the region to a major disaster whose features are shaped by the return and spread of terrorist elements in the South and the empowerment of some of them in important positions in the military, security and civil corps, and the increase in piracy and ship hijacking operations despite Saudi Arabia’s announcement of the completion of the deployment of its naval forces in the Arabian and Red Bahrain and the Gulf of Aden, and the failure is not limited to the military aspects. And security, and even extends to service aspects, as the southern regions witnessed an almost complete collapse of electricity, water, and sewage services, as well as a catastrophic failure to provide many basic commodities, including fuel and household gas. Our people, who are suffering from both matters as a result of the failure of the Saudi guardianship authorities, are fully aware that getting out of the tunnel of this deadly spiral will only be through independence and the restoration of sovereignty, but they also realize that there are interim legal and moral obligations that the Saudi guardianship authority is obligated to carry out, since the south is now under its direct repressive authority, and they come in The most important of which is providing basic services and saving the lives of citizens. O masses of our steadfast people: The sun of freedom has risen, and the features of the coming southern state are being shaped today thanks to your steadfastness and your patience with the living and service suffering that is being used as political pressure cards to bring you to your knees. But we are confident that a people who resisted chains and cannons will not be defeated by service wars and fabricated crises. Glory and eternity to the righteous martyrs… a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured… freedom for the prisoners and detainees… and it is a revolution until victory and the restoration of the independent state of the South.
