Today, Sunday, the Government Communication Center issued a report highlighting the most important development and reform interventions implemented by the government during the past week (5/10/2026 – 5/16/2026), as follows: Last Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa inspected the conditions of the pilgrims heading to the lands of Hijaz to perform the Hajj this year, and was informed of the progress of their trip arrangements and the preparations for their stay, and met with Activities and representatives of institutions were in Jericho. He also visited the industrial zone and inspected the cement mill that will be opened soon and will cover about 50% of the needs of the local market. He also reviewed the projects implemented by the government and others under implementation in energy, water and roads. The Ministry of Education continued to implement development and educational projects worth approximately $2 million, which included opening two bids to construct a wall in Al-Sarra School, south of Hebron, and maintaining the South Nablus Directorate building, in addition to announcing 3 bids to establish a new school in Baqa Al-Sharqiya in Tulkarm, rehabilitating two schools in south Hebron, and establishing a kindergarten class in Aqraba, south of Nablus. The Ministry also concluded the annual review meeting of the education sector for the year 2025 with partners and supporters, stressing the continued protection and development of education despite the challenges. The Ministry implemented a hydroponics and humus production project in 25 schools in partnership with local and international institutions, in addition to awareness-raising workshops to enhance environmental awareness and national belonging among students. In the context of following up on the occupation’s violations, the Ministry followed up on the storming of the Silat al-Dhahr Second Basic School for Boys and the incitement attacks on the Qadri Tuqan School in Nablus, while the Minister discussed with the Minya Village Council ways to strengthen the steadfastness of the educational sector in Bethlehem Governorate, in addition to announcing the results of the recruitment test for educational, support and professional jobs for the academic year 2026/2027. The Ministry of Social Development also implemented extensive field interventions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in partnership with supporting bodies, including relief, protection, social care, and economic empowerment. In the relief sector, 11,624 families in the West Bank benefited from food and non-food parcels and purchasing vouchers worth 1,249,895 shekels, while 26,258 beneficiaries in Gaza benefited from food aid that included baby formula, meals, food parcels, and the distribution of 7,000 bread parcels and 100 water cups, in addition to 3,300 beneficiaries of sanitary parcels and mattresses. In protecting women, 148 interventions were implemented in the West Bank, and 5,915 beneficiaries in Gaza benefited from psychological support, consultations, follow-up, and referrals. Regarding the protection of children and juveniles, 215 interventions were implemented for children and 68 for juveniles in the West Bank, and 107 children in Gaza benefited from protection services. 1,505 orphans in the West Bank and 330 beneficiaries in Gaza also benefited from food aid, cereals and milk. In the file of persons with disabilities, 80 interventions were implemented in the West Bank, in addition to providing support tools to 285 beneficiaries in cooperation with the Arab Bank, which included wheelchairs, walkers, medical mattresses, and white canes, while 17 beneficiaries in Gaza benefited from medical glasses, a wheelchair, diapers, and specialized training. The interventions also included the implementation of 78 interventions for the elderly, the provision of 189 health insurance services, 53 interventions in the nursery file, and 27 interventions in economic empowerment, in addition to interventions in support of charitable organizations and community, awareness and training programs in the West Bank and Gaza. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing in the Gaza Strip, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), began establishing the “Abdul Al” shelter center in the Al-Sabra area on an area of ​​3,800 square meters, in addition to signing a new hosting contract for a plot of land in Jabalia – Azzam Land in the Bir Al-Naja area. The Ministry also continued to inventory the damage, as the cumulative number of damaged residential units reached 123,053 units, and 24,142 buildings with documented damage. In the rubble removal file, more than 311,000 tons of rubble were collected, transported, and processed, and about 144,000 tons were recycled, with 361,000 squares covered to improve roads and infrastructure, more than 153,000 tons crushed, and 14,000 tons of soft concrete produced, in addition to opening and cleaning roads with a length exceeding 114,000 meters, implementing more than 21,000 working days and providing 383 temporary job opportunities. In the West Bank, the Ministry carried out asphalt paving works in the project to rehabilitate the Suleiman-Artas road link in Bethlehem, which is funded by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, managed by the Islamic Development Bank. It also continued to implement asphalt paving works in the Balaa-Allar road rehabilitation project in Tulkarm. The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Siam Bari Institute and the Palestinian Employment Fund, and with the support of the Italian Cooperation, established four grain tanks with a capacity of 40 tons in Hajjah. It also, in partnership with the Italian Siam Bari Institute and the Palestinian Employment Fund and with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, delivered equipment to the Enmaa Cooperative Society for Livestock in Kafr al-Dik in Salfit Governorate, which included a fodder storage unit, a 6-kilowatt solar energy unit, two water tanks, and a chopper. The Minister of Agriculture also discussed with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) supporting farmers’ resilience and enhancing the urgent response, and chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee of the Rural Financial Inclusion Project (RUFIPP) in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and Planning and with the participation of the European Union, (IFAD), (AECID), the Monetary Authority, the Capital Market Authority, and the Ministry of Labour. The Ministry of Local Government and its teams in the northern governorates continue to supervise the delivery and receipt procedures in a number of local authorities in accordance with legal procedures, provided that the process is completed successively in the remaining authorities. A project was also completed to supply and install energy-efficient street lighting units in the Carmel Municipality in the Hebron Governorate, within the municipal development program and financing of the Belgian Development Agency, with the aim of supporting climate change and environmental preservation projects. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a meeting that included a number of ambassadors of the State of Palestine, headed by the Vice President of the State of Palestine, during which the latest political developments were reviewed and an emphasis was placed on intensifying diplomatic efforts to mobilize international support for Palestinian rights and enhance movement in international forums. The Minister also discussed with the honorary consuls ways to enhance cooperation and support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and participated in a youth meeting on the Palestinian issue and international law, in addition to her participation in the ministerial meeting of the nine southern European countries (MED9++). The police carried out 1,189 arrests of wanted persons, 2,537 judicial warrants, and 58 drug seizure missions, while seizing the seized items and taking legal measures, in addition to following up on 248 incidents of assaults, thefts, quarrels, and criminal incidents. The Civil Defense carried out 217 firefighting missions and 88 rescue missions, issued 313 permits for facilities, crafts and industrial activities, inspected and licensed 276 elevators, and carried out 868 field trips to examine public safety procedures. The customs police also followed up on 50 cases of tax and customs evasion and monitored markets, and destroyed 2 tons of expired, unlicensed and non-compliant goods. The Ministry of Women’s Affairs continued its efforts to strengthen the system of protection, monitoring and legislation related to women’s rights, as the Minister discussed with the United Nations Population Fund the development of cooperation in monitoring gender-based violence and completing work on the National Observatory to monitor violence against women. She also participated in a consultative meeting to discuss issues of protecting women and the family, strengthening the national protection system, and developing the legal environment and relevant policies. The Ministry of Labor signed a memorandum of understanding with the Municipality of Birzeit to establish a specialized vocational training center and a code of conduct to regulate the public transportation sector in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions. It also launched, in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, specialized courses in first aid and disaster and crisis management at a rate of 50 hours for each course. The Ministry carried out 47 inspection visits to 45 establishments, benefiting 648 male and female workers, taking 18 legal measures and implementing 10 awareness meetings, and 8 occupational safety and health visits targeting 286 workers. Within the employment and economic response programs in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Palestinian Fund for Employment implemented interventions that included completing employment interviews, signing contracts for rubble removal workers, collecting 2,857.5 cubic meters of waste, increasing the number of beneficiaries of the training to 2,250 beneficiaries, approving funding for 39 female entrepreneurs, implementing training for 53 participants in the West Bank, disbursing a first payment of 3,000 euros to 40 beneficiaries, male and female, and beginning to disburse A second payment of 2,500 euros for 66 beneficiaries, both male and female, which enhances employment opportunities and economic recovery. The General Authority for Civil Affairs continues to implement its humanitarian and field interventions around the clock to support the steadfastness of citizens and facilitate the work of institutions despite the closures and restrictions, which in Hebron Governorate included securing the entry of citizens, farmers, and Water Authority crews to their lands in Birin, east of Bani Naim, Halhul, and Beit Ummar, to maintain water networks and care for the lands, and coordinating the entry of crews from the Yasser Amr School in Tel Rumeida, and holding a funeral in the Karantina Cemetery in Hebron. In Salfit Governorate, in cooperation with the Salfit Municipality and the Public Works Directorate, maintenance work was provided for the road in the Al-Matwi area from Salfit to Burqin. In Bethlehem Governorate, work was done to reopen roads closed by the occupation forces in the town of Janata, and coordination was made to repair a water line near the bypass road in Tuqu’. The Water Authority and UNICEF signed the joint action plan 2026-2027 to implement development and humanitarian projects in the water and sanitation sectors, in parallel with continuing humanitarian interventions in Gaza by providing drinking water, and supporting the operation and maintenance of water and sanitation networks and desalination plants. Work is also underway to provide funding to establish a water network in the village of Al-Atara, in addition to providing operating materials for desalination plants, completing 90% of the project to clean the basins of the Sheikh Ajlin station, and implementing rehabilitation work for sewage lines and rain collection ponds in Khan Yunis to serve thousands of citizens. In the context of confronting the challenges of climate change, the Water Authority stressed the importance of enhancing investment in infrastructure and climate adaptation, while approving funding worth $620,000 to implement a project to convert water facilities and agricultural wells to solar energy, thus enhancing the sustainability of services and energy efficiency in Palestine. The Energy and Natural Resources Authority is preparing to install a solar energy system with a capacity of 450 kilowatts in Jericho Governmental Hospital, which will support the stability of the electrical supply and enhance the readiness of the health sector in emergency situations, in addition to launching a project to develop the medium pressure network in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, Nablus Governorate, with support from the World Bank, by extending underground cables and installing substations to address voltage drops and improve the continuity of electricity in homes, schools, and health facilities. A series of training meetings on gender integration were also implemented in cooperation with the PROSPER project funded by The Canadian Government, to promote justice and equality and raise the efficiency of employees in integrating gender into policies and decision-making mechanisms. The Environmental Quality Authority carried out 33 inspection and monitoring rounds, followed up on 8 environmental complaints, and granted 3 environmental approvals for industrial and agricultural projects and a cellular broadcasting station, in addition to issuing 11 permits to import chemicals. The Chairman of the Authority also discussed with the Center for Talents and Creativity the promotion of environmental and awareness-raising activities in villages west of Ramallah. The Environmental Quality Authority reviewed the AirAware project to monitor air quality, and discussed employing artificial intelligence and data analysis to support pollution monitoring and environmental decision-making. In the field of awareness, the Authority participated in school activities on recycling solid waste and promoting environmental awareness. The Ministry of Transport and Communications signed the Code of Conduct for Public Vehicle Drivers in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and the Transport Workers Union, in addition to participating in the launch of Arab Traffic Week 2026 in Tubas under the slogan “Slow down…we are waiting for you.” The Minister held meetings with the Union of Bus Company Owners in Hebron to discuss the challenges of public transportation. Within the framework of digital transformation and improving services, the Ministry recorded 14,357 vehicle and plate movements, 9,407 driver movements, 1,331 practical examinations, 1,533 theoretical examinations, in addition to 1,362 renewal and restart transactions, and 1,325 drivers’ license renewals on dues. While the Ministry dealt with 7 new complaints, accepted 5 of them, and closed and processed 19 other complaints. The Ministry of Culture organized cultural and literary seminars that dealt with the Nakba in contemporary narrative, narrative techniques, and aesthetics of the scene, in addition to workshops, dialogue sessions, and heritage and artistic activities that targeted children and youth, enhanced national and cultural awareness, and commemorated the 78th anniversary of the Nakba. Heritage activities were also organized to revive the Palestinian heritage in Jericho and Hebron, “Old City Storyteller” performances, and artistic and interactive activities for children in Yatta and Beit Ula, in addition to workshops for making dolls and soap and reviving the “local freekeh” industry. The Ministry organized activities on folk tales and prisoner culture, a series of cultural and community activities, and poetry and poetry meetings in Salfit, in addition to awareness-raising events in Bethlehem about the importance of vocational training and its role in keeping pace with the requirements of the labor market. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities continued its efforts to protect cultural heritage and promote domestic tourism, coinciding with Palestine’s official accession to the International Council of Museums in a step that strengthens the Palestinian presence globally. The Ministry carried out more than 28 field tours targeting 38 heritage and tourist sites, and monitored 10 attacks on heritage sites, while 109 seized antiquities were inspected. Within the framework of supporting internal tourism, the Ministry received more than 52 tourist buses for internal Palestinians in Hebron, in addition to implementing and sponsoring tourist itineraries in Jenin, Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jericho. The Ministry, in cooperation with the German Protestant Institute of Archaeology, also continues archaeological excavations in the Church of the Nativity.
